EST 571 post 1

My Dad was the Director of Waldbaum's Supermarkets so technology was always around. I went to school to be a computer programmer way, way back in the day and learned Assembler, COBOL, Pascal, RPG and other programming languages.

In the classroom, I don't use technology as much as I would like. I tend to stick with things like school island and study island to create review questions. I don't know how to connect technology with the explicit, rules based instruction that typically goes along with Special Education apart from the worksheets that can be generated using sites like edhelper.com.

At school we use MOODLE, Infinite Campus, and IEP Plus+.

That is very interesting. I know there is a lot of things we all know about technology but to use it successfully on an everyday basis is very difficult

I loved the structured languages like Pascal. Today everything is object oriented. There was something to be said for the nice flow of an old top-down, structured program.

I guess I'm dating myself.
